Founder. Jennifer Kite-Powell

Storyteller. Strategic Creative. Changemaker.

Jennifer combines journalism with storytelling to entertain, educate and create engagement where you need it.

She helps companies and leaders transform their brands through strategy and story. (Think brand therapist meets storyteller.) With more than thirty years of experience, Jennifer has helped telco, tech, artists, healthcare, legal and PR companies tell their stories.

She founded Spilled Ink (formerly Ink Communications & Design) in 2000, which focused on story, PR, and content creation during the telecommunications boom and emerging technology. Her clients ranged from France Telecom/Orange, Viacess/Orca, Dreampark (acquired by Motorola), PrimeSense (acquired by Apple) and global tech and deep tech start-ups.

She has moderated and spoken at ComicCon, Mobile World Congress, Pioneers, Web Summit, and Ericsson Executive Leadership events. In 2017, she introduced Ericsson's new CEO to the world at Mobile World Congress. She’s traveled with NatGeo to cover new science and technology films, including Hidden Figures, Mars, Genius, The Flood (NatGeo Wild), Into the Okavango, and Valley of the Boom.

She’s a senior contributor at Forbes.com, covering innovation in technology and science. She interviewed scientists, technologists, artists, Nobel Prize winners, and celebrities, including Jane Goodall, Kevin Costner, Steve Zahn, Janelle Monáe, Robert Rodriguez, and Jim Parsons.

Poet. Podcaster. Author.
Jennifer is a speculative poet and the author of two books: Love, Lust, Longing, and Truth and Deluge in a Paper Cup. She is also the creator and host of the culture podcast Tiny Little Victories, the co-author of the chapter on privacy in Faster than the Future, and a contributing writer to Arizona State University’s Thive Magazine.

She’s all about French gardens, bees, late-night secret soirees under the stars, her lovable beagle Gigi Beatrice, her social butterfly Fiona Persephone and two existential cats, Calliope and Mary Margaret.

You can follow Jennifer everywhere that matters: LinkedIn, BlueSky, Twitter (she refuses to call it X), Substack, Medium and Amazon Authors.

The backstory.

Storyology is a story and strategy studio. It’s the evolution of one of the first virtual content and PR agencies in the world founded by Jennifer Kite-Powell in 2000 — Spilled Ink —formerly Ink Communications.

Founded in the frothy new world order of the internet, Spilled Ink carved out stories and user-generated content for global clients that were changing the shape of telecommunications, robotics and the burgeoning app world.

Over the company's 14-year tenure, 85 percent of its clients were acquired by major tech brands—Motorola, Apple, Google, and Microsoft.

Jennifer brings stories to life, and Storyology picks up where Spilled Ink left off in 2014—reframed by market shifts, transformed by technology, and still driven by a passion for creating meaningful, relevant, and engaging content. Your brand is your story.

Our promise & ethos.

We are human (hooray!). We aren’t perfect, but like Elvis Costello said, our aim is true.

We care about our planet and how people are treated. We want to live in a world that eliminates injustices where they exist. We love our fur babies, and we know our hobbies are just as important as the work we create for our clients. We value creation, the magic of silence and the camaraderie of friends.

Okay, we aren’t usually this serious, but…

We aim to create the best stories for you and your brand in a way that recognizes all of our values and yours.
